What does “shelf-stable” mean?
Shelf-stable means the product can be safely stored at room temperature before opening without refrigeration. This is achieved through a commercial sterilization process and sealed in a high-barrier, food-grade pouch that ensures food safety and long-term stability.
How can it be shelf-stable?
Our products are made commercially sterile through a validated sterilization process and then protected in high-barrier packaging. In plain terms: microorganisms that cause spoilage or illness are destroyed, and nothing new can get in afterward until opening.
Is the packaging safe?
Yes. We use food-grade, BPA-free,
high-barrier packaging designed for shelf-stable foods. These materials are commonly used for baby food, medical nutrition, and ready-to-eat meals and comply with food-contact safety standards.
How is the chicken preserved?
Our chicken is fully cooked, sealed in a high-barrier, food-grade pouch, and processed using a commercial sterilization system that ensures food safety and long-term stability.
This process: -Eliminates harmful microorganisms - Locks out contaminants - Keeps the product safe and high quality for up to 12 months Absolutely no artificial preservatives are added.
Why is there liquid inside the pouch?
The liquid is natural chicken stock released from the chicken during cooking.
It contains:
- Water
- Natural chicken juices
- Marinade
It is completely safe to consume and helps keep the chicken tender and juicy.
I noticed small black dots on the chicken. Is it safe to eat?
Yes — the product is safe to eat.
Those small dark spots are a natural result of either:
- Seasoning from the marinade, or
- Natural protein (hemoglobin) in the chicken that darkens during cooking
Both are completely normal in fully cooked chicken products.
Why don't all pieces look exactly the same?
We use real whole chicken breast, not heavily processed or reshaped meat.
Because of this, natural variations in muscle structure can cause slight visual differences from piece to piece.
How should I store it?
Before opening: Store in a cool, dry place at room temperature away from direct sunlight. After opening: Refrigerate and consume within 24 hours.
What if my pouch is damaged?
Do not consume if the pouch is torn,
leaking, or unsealed. Please contact us and we’ll take care of it. Email: support@dak-lab.com
Is it fully cooked?
Yes. The chicken is fully cooked and ready to eat straight from the pouch. Heating is optional.
